Job Description

Ledgent Finance and Accounting has a prominent Manufacturing partner located in St Paul needing to permanently add to their Accounting team!

  • Pay: $80,000-$85,000/yr
  • Mon-Fri 8am-5pm (flexible)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain financial statements, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

  • Analyze financial data, variances, and trends to support business decision-making.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist with external audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.

  • Track, analyze, and reconcile freight expenses, ensuring accurate cost allocation.

  • Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to monitor freight invoices and resolve discrepancies.

  • Work with carriers and vendors to ensure proper billing and payment reconciliation.

  • Assist in developing freight cost forecasts and budgeting to support financial planning.

  • Implement process improvements to optimize freight expense tracking and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • 3-5+ years of accounting experience.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
